United Way of North Central New Mexico is honored to welcome Angela F. Williams, President and CEO of United Way Worldwide, as the keynote speaker for our Mosaic Celebration on April 17th.

As the leader of United Way Worldwide, Angela oversees a global network that serves 48 million people across 37 countries each year. With more than 30 years of leadership experience in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors, she has dedicated her career to advancing equity and community-driven solutions.

Since taking the helm at United Way, Angela has championed a bold new vision for the organization, one that emphasizes building equitable solutions from the ground up. Her leadership focuses on leveraging the power of local communities—understanding their unique needs, ensuring representation, and making long-term investments that create lasting impact. As she says, these fundamental principles may seem basic, but in practice, they are truly transformative.

Angela’s impressive career spans multiple sectors. Prior to joining United Way, she served as President and CEO of Easterseals, advocating for individuals with disabilities. She has also held leadership roles at the YMCA of the USA and worked as an interfaith liaison for the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund. Her legal career includes serving as Special Counsel on criminal law for Senator Edward M. Kennedy, prosecuting civil rights cases for the Department of Justice, and serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. Additionally, Angela served on active duty for over six years in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG).

A graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, Angela resides in Chicago with her husband, the Reverend Roderick Williams, and serves as a volunteer pastor at the Chicago Apostolic Center.
