Inspiring, empowering, and celebrated - HPS Leadership Speaker Series kicks off Women’s History Month with a bang!

On March 1, 2024, the stage was set, and hearts were filled with anticipation as HPS (Hispano Philanthropic Society) embarked on a momentous occasion, marking the commencement of Women’s History Month with a resounding celebration. Over 120 esteemed guests graced the event, transforming it into HPS’s most successful Leadership Speaker Series to date. Dubbed “Celebrando a Las Mujeres Poderosas” (Celebrating Powerful Women), the event was a poignant tribute to the influential Hispanic women shaping our communities.

The atmosphere crackled with excitement and reverence as attendees gathered to honor the invaluable contributions of Hispanic women in various spheres of life. From trailblazing entrepreneurs to dedicated community leaders, the event showcased the multifaceted achievements of five influential Hispanic female leaders in our community. The event featured an inspirational conversation with Janice Torrez, President of Blue Cross & Blue Shielf of New Mexico, Rita Gonzales, Associate Labs Director at Sandia National Laboratories, Michelle Hernandez, Partner and Shareholder at Modrall Sperling Law Firm, and Kim Sanchez-Rael, President of the Board of Regents at the University of New Mexico and Co-Founder/CEO of Azuca. The event was also moderated by Olivia Padilla-Jackson, Vice President of Finance and Operations at Central New Mexico Community College.

As the event unfolded, the stage came alive with inspiring stories and insightful perspectives shared by distinguished speakers. Each speaker brought a unique narrative, weaving a tapestry of resilience, determination, and empowerment.
