More than 130 community members made their way through Albuquerque and Rio Rancho this weekend as part of United Way of Central New Mexico’s first Day of Caring Scavenger Hunt.

The event was designed to introduce the community to nonprofits and the work that they do in a fun fashion. Clues led participants to various agencies and local landmarks.

The United Way Day of Caring was a fabulous community-builder. It showed all of us that we are united in the things that matter, and we were all able to showcase the important work being done by neighbors, for our neighbors,” says Rachael Miletkov, Director of Development at St. Felix Pantry.

Participants sported their official 2020 Day of Caring Scavenger Hunt T-shirts and masks and shared their adventures through UWCNM’s social media channels.

Thanks to our sponsors: Parnall Law Firm, LLC, Western Sky Community Care, and Chalmers Ford. We’re also grateful to General Mills, J.P.R. Decorative Gravel, Inc., Pepsi, and Greg Shamas- State Farm Agent for making the day a success.

Thank you to the following agencies for the partnership: Assistance League, Casa Fortaleza, DreamSpring, Enlace Comunitario, Explora, Haven House, Locker #505, New Day, NM Black History Organizing Committee, Rio Grande Food Project, Read West, Saranam, and St. Felix Pantry.
