Ari Herring - 90 Faces of United Way
As a child, Ari Macpherson Herring heard of her grandparents’ meeting at a 20/30 club in Albuquerque. What she didn’t know then was that her grandfather, Judge Danny Macpherson, started an important legacy then: the founding of the Community Chest (that is now the United Way of North Central New Mexico) in 1934.
Ari learned of that fact when she applied for a role in community grant giving at UWNCNM. Today, as Co-Executive Director of the Rio Grande Food Project, Ari brings that legacy into a full loop. Ari’s career has taken her around the world and close to home, focusing her skills on helping others by addressing their needs. She remains a friend and partner of United Way of North Central New Mexico. “United Way has served as a convener, a funder of collaboration, and it’s served as a friend to many of us determined to make our community better.”
