Success! HPS Hosts another Successful Leadership Speaker Series

On Friday, October 3, 2025, the Hispano Philanthropic Society (HPS) hosted its annual Leadership Speaker Series: Collective Heritage — Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future at the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s Bank of America Theatre. The event brought together community members, business leaders, and advocates to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and to reflect on the leadership, resilience, and vision that continue to shape our communities. Each speaker shared a unique perspective on leadership, drawing from personal experience and professional achievement. From heritage as something to safeguard and advance, to the resilience that defines our collective journey, to the flames of community, faith, and service that light the way — every message resonated deeply with the audience.

HPS Council Member and event emcee Gabe Gomez reflected on the impact of the morning, noting, “What struck me most was how effortlessly each of them reminded us that leadership isn’t about status; it’s about service. It’s about creating opportunity, not hoarding it — about opening doors for others and doing so with a measure of grace. There’s something striking when achievement becomes a form of generosity, and when leadership feels less like a title and more like a shared table.

The event also recognized HPS founders, past chairs, and council members whose ongoing dedication continues to strengthen the organization’s mission — to empower and connect the Hispanic community through philanthropy.

HPS extends heartfelt thanks to this year’s sponsors — Sandia National Laboratories, Nusenda Credit Union, the Atrisco Heritage Foundation, and Leadership New Mexico — for their generous support in making this celebration possible.

As attendees departed, the energy in the room reflected the event’s theme: a powerful blend of gratitude for those who came before and a renewed commitment to lead, serve, and inspire the next generation.
