Lori Waldon was delighted, she says, to be asked to join United Way’s Board of Directors several months after taking the post of President and General Manager of KOAT TV. Jumping in with both feet, she has served as Board Chair and on other Board committees. 

What drives her participation? She is inspired by hearing the amazing stories and seeing the impact UWNCNM has on so many lives in New Mexico: “In the last few years, the United Way has specifically focused on improving the lives of young people. When children have a strong foundation at home and in school, their lives follow a solid pathway to success.” 

Waldon hopes UWNCNM will be in the forefront of moving New Mexico up and out of its many challenges, and be laser focused on some of the root problems that hold us back. She believes we live in a beautiful state with so much potential. “We’re on our way – and we’ll get there!”
