211 Helps People in Need
We all know 911, and some of us remember 411, but not all of us know 211, a special abbreviated number meant to provide information and referrals to health, human, and social service organizations across the U.S. and Canada. 211 service is available to about 95 percent of the U.S. population.
Here in our central New Mexico region, our 211 staff connects those in need with health and human services, government agencies, and community-based organizations that can help.
With comprehensive knowledge and access to available resources, our 211 staff is prepared to help with just about any situation.
Our work continues today and helps support family stability.
How we helped…
"Because of issues with my child support, I was not able to pay for my daughter’s day care and she lost her spot. I now have to make a past-due payment to get her back in preschool. Her preschool program has been a blessing and I was so worried. Thank you for the referral and for listening to me.”

"My utilities were disconnected, and I was in jeopardy of losing my housing voucher. Your referral helped me secure part of the money that I needed. Thanks, 211 team!”
