UWNCNM Invests Over $2 Million in Local Nonprofits

United Way of North Central New Mexico is proud to announce that $2,030,000 in Community Investment grants will be awarded to 80 community agencies serving Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance, Santa Fe, and Valencia counties. In addition, UWNCNM’s donor groups will contribute $275,000 to 12 of these agencies, bringing the total investment to over $2.3 million.

These grants directly support nonprofits whose work aligns with UWNCNM’s Impact priorities- building collective impact and ensuring equitable outcomes for our community.

A Community-Led Process

What makes these funding decisions unique is the process behind them. Each year, local volunteers- including donors, nonprofit professionals, and individuals with lived experience- join Community Investment panels to carefully review applications.

These panels collaborate with the Community Investment Council and Santa Fe Advisory Council to make sure that grant awards reflect the real needs and priorities of our community. UWNCNM’s Community Investment Team leads the process, with final approval given by the UWNCNM Board of Directors.

“Funding these agencies represents a strategic investment in driving collective impact across our region,” said Rodney Prunty, President and CEO of UWNCNM. “By aligning with our core Impact priorities, these grants support a network of organizations working to address root causes and build lasting solutions. Together, this coordinated effort strengthens our communities and ensures that every individual has the opportunity to thrive.”

UWNCNM’s Community Investment grants are dedicated to advancing four key areas:
